We cannot believe that we have just celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. Time sure does fly when you are having fun. Every anniversary so far we have taken the day off work and spent it together. We feel this day is extremely important to us, because it is the day that we promised to God, each other, family, and friends to spend the rest of our lives together. We feel blessed to have more love for each other today than we did 4 years ago. We also are blessed to be able to take time and honor 12/9/06.

This year we celebrated at the Grove Park Inn. For those of you who don't know this is where Scott proposed and also is right outside of Black Mountain where we met. The Inn and the Asheville area are very special to us. We started off by treating ourselves to the spa and then an amazing dinner at the Sunset Terrace restaurant. Friday we slept in...well to 8:20 anyway....then one of us sacrificed for the other and went to the gym:), then we sat by the biggest fireplace we have ever seen before we enjoyed the breakfast buffet with a mountain view. Absolutely beautiful!

We went to the Biltmore where we enjoyed the afternoon and evening. We also did the candlelight tour...beautiful, but really overpriced...considering when it first opened admission was only $2.00.

So you really can't tell there was a fire...but we promise it was there.

Anniversary dinner

Absolutely wonderful weekend!

A few hours after running the 5k it started snowing! The first snow of the winter is always exciting. Scott and I had planned on picking out our Christmas tree on Saturday. We went to the mountains to find the perfect Christmas tree in the snow. Even though it was freezing we had a great time finding our tree. We have never picked out a tree in the snow. It felt more like Christmas. Below are pictures of our journey to the mountain and what our house looks like now.

Our drive home was a little treturous but we made it home safely.

As you know I love designing and decorating. For the past 2 days I have been in heaven while decorating our house for Christmas. Below are a few pictures of our house.

I DID IT!!!!

For those of you that don't know I have been training to run my first 5k. This past weekend with a very dear friend I accomplished my goal of running my first race. We ran in the Mistletoe 5k in W-S. My goal was to run the whole race. I not only ran the whole race, I ran it in under 30 mins., and finished in the top 25%! Thanks to those that encouraged and supported me while training for this race.

Now Whit and I are setting our sights on the 10k in Charleston. After my first race I am hooked. The feeling I had after running was exhilarating. I cannot wait for the next race.

Biking the Festival of lights

No it's not a typo, we actually biked the festival of lights. Some of our friends learned that you could bike the festival of lights at Tanglewood to help raise money for MS. Tanglewood opens up the lights to bikers for one night only. It was a chilly ride, but we had a great time. Oh by the way Tanglewood is really much hillier than I remember it being in a car.

The Sparrows

We got a visit from the newly married Mr. and Mrs. Sparrow. They were going to a Panther's game on Sunday so we were able to go to dinner on Saturday and then they spent the night. We tried this great restaurant in Kannapolis called Old Stone Vino. It is a house built in the 1930's and has been renovated, moved, and turned into a restaurant. The separate rooms in the house have been made into dinning areas. This creates a more intimate and personal dinning experience. They also have live music and daily specials.

If you live near the Concord area you really should give this restaurant a try.

Cabin Weekend

We have had an annual cabin weekend for an ASU game for the past 4 years. We get together with Cambria and Brandon and Katy and Clay for a weekend full of eating, laughing, pool playing, football watching, and memories. Here a some pictures from the weekend.

It's been a while

since I have posted on our blog. You can see below what we have been busy doing. This starts from most recent and goes back.

The dogs were so tired they put themselves to bed.

Some of the men in Scott's family went to play golf the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This family ritual used to be called the Turkey bowl, but for the past few years there was no golf game. This year 6 of them decided to get the Clark family turkey bowl going again. First picture is Scott following thru with his swing. Second picture is Scott, his cousins, uncles, and dad before the game got under way.

Thanksgiving with my family was at our house this year. We all were together under one roof where we enjoyed food, laughter, and time together. I recently have been given my great grandmother's crystal. I couldn't wait to mix it with our china. The two together looked simple and elegant. Also you will notice a picture of our turkey which Scott smoked for us.
